Dr. Michael Carroll began his Alaska medical career and work with community health aides when he was a public health service doctor in Tanana from 1970 to 1972. He has continued to be a doctor in Fairbanks and have contact with patients from Interior villages. In this interview, Mike talks about the old hospital facility at Tanana, traveling to villages to hold clinics, radio communication and the development of a satellite system, changes in medical care, and what the village and health aide experience has meant to him personally.
