Paul Sherry is the Chief Executive Officer of the Alaska Tribal Health Consortium in Anchorage, Alaska. The interview took place in his office squeezed into his busy schedule. Paul arrived in Alaska in 1974 as a Vista volunteer. He worked for Tanana Chiefs Conference in Fairbanks providing logistical, training, travel and other non-clinical support to the health aide program. He continued his career in Alaska Native health care management by working for the Alaska Native Health Board, and was the first employee of the Alaska Native Tribal Health Consortium when it formed in 1998. In this interview, Paul talks about working with health aides, the shift in health care control from the Indian Health Service to Native health corporations, the Consortium's role in the health aide program and statewide health services, and the establishment of a statewide telehealth program.
